The Tech3 Racing Team riders kicked off the opening round of the 2017 Moto2 World Championship with two tireless performances today under the floodlights aboard their Mistral 610 bikes. Xavi Vierge pushed throughout both practice sessions as he took the first steps in setting up his bike for Sunday’s race. He concluded FP2 with an encouraging 14th place finish, which put him 19th overall, but just seven-tenths of a second back from the top five. Whereas Remy Gardner dug deep as he worked hard to improve the grip issues of his intermediate class bike before he wrapped up FP2 a mere 0.043 behind his teammate, with his time leaving him in 22nd in the combined standings. Both riders will seek to make further strides forward in tomorrow’s solitary Moto2 practice, which begins at 19:55 local time.
