The Tech3 Racing Team duo kicked off their San Marino Grand Prix campaigns with two determined efforts on the Adriatic coast today. An unfortunate crash in free practice 1 slowed Xavi Vierge’s progress, yet he positively bounced back this afternoon to finish only 0.338 back from the top ten in the ultra competitive intermediate class. Whilst Remy Gardner also suffered a fall in the morning, but bravely returned to the track and then, in FP2, he pushed non-stop before ending up only 0.052 behind his teammate. The action resumes tomorrow at 10:55 with FP3.

“It was a tough first day in Misano, but I am pleased with how we finished. This morning, I crashed and then in FP2 I had a small issue with the rear tyre on the first run. Later, I tried to make a good rhythm because I had only completed five or six laps. Eventually, I was able to improve on my time from last year, even though this was not the objective, but it is still a positive first step for day 1. Now, we will check the data so that we can advance tomorrow. I have to say thanks to the Tech3 team for their amazing work because this morning when I fell, I destroyed the bike but my crew repaired it really quickly.“

“Overall it was an ok day but we have to keep pushing. This morning, I had a small crash and I think I fell on a wet patch of asphalt. I damaged my finger, but I went back out on the track. Then, in the afternoon, FP2 was better yet, we are still searching for some more with the bike and the handling. We need to work hard this evening so that we can be ready for tomorrow, where I will do my best like always."
