Xavi Vierge will commence his last race for the Tech3 Racing Team from 9th on the grid after an accomplished display in qualifying today. Vierge powered to a time that was only 0.498 back from the front row and he aims to turn the strong qualifying placement into a top tier result at the twisting Valencia circuit to finish his season in a highly positive manner.

Meanwhile, Remy Gardner endured a challenging qualifying session and will begin the sprint from the eighth row of the grid. Nevertheless, the young Australian seeks to bounce back and fight to the flag to close the weekend with a solid performance.

Xavi Vierge

Position: 9th - Time: 1'35.653 - Laps: 14

Vierge - 2017“I am happy with today and the entire weekend so far. It was a bit tricky because of the new compound of tyre from Dunlop, which made it more difficult and I had some small issues. Yet, finally, in the qualifying, we made good progress. My lap time is fast, but the most important thing is the rhythm and I think I have a very positive pace, which will allow me to fight for a top position tomorrow. Thanks to my team for their hard work and I am excited to race.“

Remy Gardner

Position: 25th - Time: 1'36.189 - Laps: 18

Gardner - 2017“It was a bad qualifying and I can’t hide my disappointment. My personal best today was slower than the time that I rode last year, which makes the situation even more annoying. I really struggled and I just didn’t have a good feeling. We need to make some changes for tomorrow and we have work to do tonight. However, I’ll do my best as always to fight."
