The Tech3 Racing Team duo of Remy Gardner and Bo Bendsneyder experienced a diversified Qualifying at the TT Circuit Assen today, which was briefly interrupted by a red flag a few minutes before the end. Thereby, Gardner did well to lower his lap time by 1.247 seconds from Friday morning to eventually end up in P18 following some setup changes in the course of the session. On the other side, Bo Bendsneyder found a decent rhythm for tomorrow’s eighth race of 2018 starting at 12.20 local time. The Dutch rookie will launch his home Grand Prix aboard the Mistral 610 from the eighth row of the grid.

“It was a pretty hectic and crazy Qualifying. I made a good decision this morning to stick with an old tyre in FP3 and work with that. The new rubber this afternoon was a big step forward. I did my fastest lap in the beginning on my own, which is another positive. Then we tried to sort out some issues but lost a bit on track and in the end, we went back to what we had. But after the red flag there were just three minutes to go, it was pretty hectic and riders have been everywhere, so it was impossible to get a clean lap. I think I could have improved a tenth or so behind somebody in the slipstream. 18thon the grid is not really good, but we are only six tenths from the front, which is quite crazy. We got a strong rhythm for the race, so I think we can have a decent one.”

“We improved the lap time quite a lot and stuck with a used tyre, with which I felt good. Afterwards we put in a new rubber and changed a bit on the bike, but it was worse. We were lucky that the red flag came, so we could make a difference again. On the last lap I was behind another rider, the bike felt really good, but the guy in front of me did quite many mistakes, so finally, the lap was not ideal. I think we can do a better lap time, but we need to look forward to tomorrow and hopefully we can score our first points.”
