Tech3 Racing team rider Remy Gardner found back to a fantastic rhythm today in Spielberg. After superbly leading the first session of the day in difficult conditions this morning, the young Australian performed impressively in Qualifying to conquer 11th position and therefore a start from the fourth row for tomorrow’s Austrian Grand Prix at 12.20 local time.

On the other side of the garage, Bo Bendsneyder did well with mixed weather this morning and improved on his fastest time from Friday by 0.890 seconds during Qualifying. The Dutch Moto2 rookie eventually finished one second behind his teammate and is ready to fight on Sunday from the ninth row of the grid.

Remy GardnerThis has been a pretty great day. In FP3 I ended up on top in the wet and it was good fun. Then it dried up for Qualifying and to be honest, I was a bit nervous because we weren’t so good in the dry before. But we had a direction and found a solution. On the first exit I didn’t get a great run and I knew inside myself that I could improve, so the last run we went out, did a decent lap time, really close to P3 and I ended up eleventh, which is not too bad. I think we can have a strong race tomorrow.

Bo Bendsneyder“Today has been really difficult, I think this was one of my toughest Qualifyings. We didn’t really have time to set up the bike, as we only had one dry session but even there I didn’t have a good feeling, so I knew it’s not going to be easy. Finally, it truly doesn’t look ideal, I didn’t feel well with the bike, so hopefully we can find something for tomorrow and have a good pace, plus making up some places during the race.
