Tech3 Racing Team rider Xavi Vierge fought nonstop at the British Grand Prix to seize 12th aboard the Mistral 610. He then stuck into a solid rhythm and remained in the tightly contested second group for the entire sprint. Vierge pushed right until the end to earn the strong finish, which leaves him fully confident for the next round in San Marino.

Meanwhile, Remy Gardner concluded the gruelling 12th round of the championship in 20th. The Australian rookie leapt forward from the head of the seventh row of the grid and quickly began his charge. He plugged away throughout the 18-lap sprint before meeting the chequered flag in 20th despite his best efforts.

Bendsneyder to link up with Tech3 for 2018

The Tech3 Racing team is pleased to announce the signing of current Moto3 hot shot Bo Bendsneyder for the 2018 Moto2 season. The 18-year-old Dutchman dominated the Red Bull rookies cup in 2015 with eight wins and two further podiums, which earned him a ride in the Moto3 class in the following year. Here, in his debut season, he delivered some notable performances and powered to two well-deserved podium finishes. Following some further notable displays so far in 2017, the promising young rider will step up to the highly competitive intermediate class next season and the Tech3 Racing Team would like to warmly welcome him.

Bendsneyder - 2017

Bo Bendsneyder

“I am really happy about this opportunity with the Tech3 Racing Team. It’s a dream come true to go to Moto2 after two years in Moto3. I have gained a lot of knowledge in the lightweight class but now I think it’s the time to move up and learn again. For sure it will be challenging because it will be my first season on a Moto2 bike and there will be a lot more horsepower. However, I am looking forward to working with the people in this team and I am really excited for next year."

Hervé Poncharal

Team Manager

“Speaking on behalf of the Tech3 Racing Moto2 team, I am very proud to announce the signing of the young Dutch rider, Bo Bendsneyder, who we have been following for a few seasons already. I am more than delighted because, for me, Bo is a great talent that has an incredible future ahead of him. We decided to sign him for two reasons. Firstly, because of his riding capability and we are sure that he is going to surprise a few people, or maybe a lot, next year! Plus, secondly due to his human approach and how he behaves. I have always tried to treat my team and crew like my family and I admire Bo’s approach. He is really well educated, speaks great English, is down to earth and humble. All of this is important for me and I’m sure we are going to do some great things together so I have to say welcome to Bo. We can’t wait to see how he does in the first test on our bike when the season finishes. Thanks to him for his trust and I also want to wish Bo luck for this afternoon."

The Tech3 Racing Team riders began the British Grand Prix in a positive way after producing two determined performances on the opening day of action in Northamptonshire. Xavi Vierge worked non-stop under the English sun to complete FP2 in 11th and finish just under a second back from the top. Whereas Remy Gardner built up his speed and cut 1.073 from his FP1 time to seize 16th after delivering a promising performance on day one. The action resumes tomorrow at 10:55 local time with FP3.

Xavi Vierge

Position: 11th - Time: 2’08.447 - Laps: 17

Vierge - 2017“It was a challenging first day but our overall result is quite good. Today I had to work a lot with the Tech3 team in order to understand how we can improve and make steps forward because the bike needed a few adjustments as the feeling was not perfect. However, we have still started the British GP in a positive way, and tomorrow is another chance where we will try to continue advancing.“

Remy Gardner

Position: 16th - Time: 2’08.649 - Laps: 16

Gardner - 2017“The first day went quite positively for me at Silverstone, and the test that we did in Austria recently has really helped us and I can tell. In FP2, we used the number 3 tyre and it took me a while to understand where the most grip was. Then, I pitted and we made another change which made me feel a lot better. I returned to the track and I could see on the sector times that I was strong in the first two parts of the track, but then every lap, there would be traffic which would end my progress. It’s disappointing but we know that we are not far from the top and my ideal time is good. Tomorrow, we will work a bit more and then I am sure that we can qualify well for the race on Sunday."
